Grilled Mackerel


  • 6 Mackerel Fillets
  • ¼ Cup of Jerk Marinade (either the Beginner's Jerk or Eadrey's Advanced Jerk)
  • 2 Tomatoes
  • 1 Red Onion
  • ½ cup chopped Cilantros
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 lime
  • Salt & pepper



  1. Brush the jerk marinade all over each mackerel fillet.   Make sure to use up all the jerk marinade.
  2. Set the markerel fillets aside to marinate for about 10 minutes.
  3. Chop onion, tomatoes and add to bowl.
  4. Add the chopped cilantros to the onions and tomatoes in the bowl.
  5. Pour olive oil and juice of lime plus salt and pepper over the mixture in the bowl.
  6. Mix together and leave in fridge.
  7. Place mackerel on a hot BBQ with the skin side down and grill for 3 minutes.
  8. Turn over and cook until done (about 3 more minutes).
  9. Place mackerel on platter.
  10. Pour the mixture from the bowl all over fish.
  11. Serves 6 people as a main or side dish.
