Steamed Mussels In Jerk Broth


  • ¼ Cup Advanced Jerk Marinade
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 tbs chopped parsley
  • 1 lemon cut in wedges
  • 2 lb mussels
  • 1 cup vegetable broth
  • ½ cup white wine


  1. Scrub and take off all the hair off the mussels (fibrous hairs)
  2. Only use mussels that are closed – set aside
  3. In a large pot, add jerk marinade, ginger, broth and white wine
  4. Bring to a boil then add mussels and cover lid
  5. Steam the mussels for about 10 minutes or until all the mussels open, if there is some that does not open, discard
  6. Turn off the heat and toss in the parsley
  7. Serve with a lemon wedge
